FREE SPACE-TRANSFORMATION-HABITER
Conference and exhibition by Lacaton&Vassal
On Saturday 29 November, at 10:00 am in the Sala delle Volte at EXMA | Centro Comunale d’Arte e Cultura in Via S. Lucifero, 71, Cagliari, there will be the opening event of the exhibition ‘free space-transformation-habiter’, dedicated to the work of the architectural firm Lacaton&Vassal, winner of the prestigious Pritzker Prize in 2021.
The exhibition, hosted for the first time in Italy and open from 29 November to 28 December, consists of three sections that allow visitors to reinterpret the distinctive features of a working methodology based on the solid relationship between architecture and users that fuels the spirit of good living.
The opening event, attended by Anne Lacaton and Jean-Philippe Vassal, will feature a lecture by the architects open to the public, introduced by Prof. Massimo Faiferri.

The exhibition is part of the ET WORKSHOP | BEYOND UNDERGROUND [ILS 2025 – Villard 27] event programme, organised on 27-28-29 November 2025 in implementation of the institutional agreement between the Autonomous Region of Sardinia (RAS) and the University of Cagliari (UNICA), aimed at supporting the coordination and promotion of Italy’s bid to establish the Einstein Telescope (ET) in the disused mining site of Sos Enattos, in the territory of Lula, Sardinia.
These days will see the participation of around a hundred students from 14 architecture schools involved in the 27th edition of the Villard seminar on the study of inland areas of Italy.
