The ET CONTEST – Beyond Underground ideas competition, organised to gather proposals and reflections on the Einstein Telescope surface project – the major research infrastructure for which the Sos Enattos site in Sardinia is a candidate – has concluded with the announcement of the winners
On behalf of the entire ET CONTEST – Beyond Underground organisation, we would like to thank all participants for their valuable contributions and for the great commitment they have shown in this ideas competition.
The 28 proposals offered a wide range of interpretations, which the jury appreciated, leading them to decide to award all three prizes jointly, alongside three special mentions: nine groups were awarded prizes in total.
This very quality — and the resulting difficulty in drawing up the ranking — explains the delay in announcing the winners.
The official awards ceremony will take place at the end of October, presumably in Lula, and will be accompanied by an exhibition of all 28 projects submitted: this will provide an opportunity for the jury and participants to discuss the individual projects, a discussion that has been postponed until that event. The exact dates will be announced by the end of August, with direct notification sent to all 28 participating groups and publication on the competition website.
We invite all participants to read the attached press releases in Italian and English, which also summarise some of the jury’s general reflections and list the names of the winners.
Once again, congratulations to the winners and to all the participating groups whose works will be on display at the exhibition this coming October.
